My older notebook is hot. By that I mean it gets really warm on the legs if, I tried to use it as a “lap”top. It is of course also very warm having it run on a table or desk. I have to have it propped up to make sure it gets some air circulation.
The Targus Chill Hub XC definitely helps. Besides keeping it up to allow air circulation it has dual fans to help blow air up onto the notebook. I have noticed the difference. It is made out of a sturdy plastic. There are three level height adjustments (fold-out feet) allowing you to select the most comfortable and ergonomic setting.
Plus it comes with an integrated four port USB 2.0 hub allowing you to connect other USB devices. I tried it with a USB thumb drive and mouse, both of which had no problem. It comes with a USB cable and they even thought to make a compartment in the middle to store it. I would have no problem recommending this chill hub.
They have many different chill hubs mine is the AWE01US1.
